Inter’s next big move in the transfer market has been confirmed. The Nerazzurri announced today the arrival of Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo on Beppe Marotta special of a loan with obligation to buy with a €25 million buy clause + youth striker Samuele Mulattieri and bonuses. According to reports, the 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract until 2028 on a €2.8m salary.

Frattesi adds a vital injection of youth to Inter’s midfield and numbers-wise, is the Marcelo Brozovic replacement (although they couldn’t play more different roles on the pitch). Frattesi has been a starter in Sassuolo’s midfield three for two seasons, notching 11 goals thanks to his constant energy and runs into the box from midfield. He’s also debuted for the senior Italian national team. Though he’s lacking a bit on the technical side of the game, Hakan Calhanoglu (who is the presumed full-time regista) and Nicolo Barella can help make up for that. I for one am quite excited for the Italian. He’s been one of the hottest names on the Serie A market of late and it’s good to see Inter add youth and quality at the same time. At just 23 Frattesi has the chance to really make a name for himself at the Meazza, and should be handed serious minutes from the get-go.

What are your thoughts on the move? Is Frattesi the right man for Inter’s midfield? Let us know in the comments below.

Welcome to Inter, Davide!
