Winger could boost newly promoted side.

With the signing of Keita Balde Diao, Inter Milan may have some extra weight to shed in some spots — one of those being on the wing.

With that in mind, Forza Italian Football is reporting that Inter is preparing to ship off Yann Karamoh to Parma on a season-long loan.

This makes sense considering his prospects of getting more than the 17 appearances he had last season are even slimmer with the arrival of Balde along with Ivan Perisic and Antonio Candreva.

Moving to the Gialloblu is good for Karamoh. It will provide him additional field experience that he just wouldn’t get this season with the Nerazzurri.

Karamoh came to Inter last season for €5.5 million and, during his limited action, did have spots of strong play. Parma would likely be able to utilize him more and potentially come back to Inter with a lot more experience than he would get this season.

Getting Karamoh is one of many acquisitions Parma have done over the last few weeks. They have already added Roberto Inglese, Alberto Grassi, Alessandro Bastoni, Jonathan Biabiany and Federico Dimarco to help overcome the five-point deficit FIGC levied on the club last month following an investigation into a cheating scandal that resulted in their promotion from Serie B to Serie A.

The Nerazzurri could still have a shot at Brazilian midfielder.

As the time ticks on and a deal with Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric appearting to be getting more and more distant, a familiar name could creep back into Inter Milan’s transfer plans.

Rafinha Alcantara, who played the last half of last season with Inter, could be an alternative, if the Nerazzurri are unable to land Modric — and, like I said, that is looking more and more bleak as the minutes clock on.

Last season, Rafinha — who came on loan from Barcelona — made 17 appearances for Inter and scored twice to go along with three assists.

He was sent back to Barcelona as Inter could not meet the €35 million price tag the Blaugranes set for the Brazilian.

However, now with the understanding that Inter owners Suning Group willing to release some funds to bring in Modric, it bears suggesting that, if that deal doesn’t pan out, Piero Ausilio should divert some of those funds to bring Rafinha in permanently.

It is no secret that Rafinha wants to wear the Inter shirt and play for the Nerazzurri. He has mentioned it on numerous occasions. He is a great fit as an attacking midfield and he is already in tune with Luciano Spalletti’s style of play — and can succeed in that system.

With the transfer window closing this week, it is imperative that Ausilio find this missing piece and it is Rafinha that can fit that bill.

Any issues surrounding Rafinha’s health were nearly put to bed last season as he consistently saw the pitch for Inter with little problems.

He fits in the system and WANTS to play for Inter. Now would be the time for Inter to work on a deal to make this happen. Rafinha’s impact could be great, especially when you couple in Radja Nainggolan and potentially Matias Vecino and Marcelo Brozovic in the midfield.

Of course, I could be wrong.

Football Italia reports Los Merengues are set to offer Modric a €13-million-per-season contract — a big bump from his current €6.5 million salary.

Marca and SportMediaset have both reported on the new contract.

The Nerazzurri have reportedly offered Modric a deal which would pay him €10 million per season with the understanding that once his deal is complete with Inter, the team’s Chinese counterparts, Jiangu Suning, will give Modric an even bigger contract to play in China.

For the last two weeks, Modric has been linked with a move to Inter after his wife apparently reached out to Inter officials to gauge potential interest. Since that time, Inter has let a potential deal with former Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal go by the wayside as the Chilean international inked a new deal with Barcelona earlier this week.

Signing Modric would be the second big signing of a player to Serie A this season after former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo transferred to Juventus earlier in the transfer window.

Inter have been hot on the trail of another potential midfielder as its last target of the window. The Nerazzurri already picked up Modric’s Croatian teammate Sime Vrsaljko a few weeks ago to shore up its defensive position.

Further reports state that Modric intends on forcing Real Madrid’s hand with a gentleman’s agreement between himself and team president Florentino Perez that states the midfielder would be allowed to leave the team when he saw fit, without complications.

However, Perez has stated he will not let Modric leave unless a team activates his €750 million release clause, which Inter is in no position to do.

Calciomercato.com exclusively reported that Modric intends to tell Perez he has every intention of joining Inter next season, regardless of a new contract.

Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti confirmed the pursuit of Modric and stated the midfielder could definitely make a difference at the San Siro.

“Modric? I’ll keep dreaming with the fans, as the club have shown that they’re working in a consistent manner,” Spalletti said to Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday. “It’s clear that a player of his ability would be important to us. There are still some days of the window left.

On Friday morning, Modric tweeted that he was “Back to work” with an image of him practicing with Real Madrid.

Doesn’t seem to want to really leave Inter Milan now does he?

Offered an opportunity to find his way out of Italy for good, Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario has apparently rejected a move to Chelsea.

Reports suggest Mario declined moving to Stamford Bridge because he had no interest in working with former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.

Mario spend the last half of last season on loan to West Ham United and expressed desire to not return to Italy or Inter, but it appears the list of potential takers is dwindling.

He wants to leave, Inter wants him to leave, heck, even I want him to leave.

But to reject a move because you don’t want to work for a manager that wants you seems to be a bit ridiculous.

Chelsea is a solid club with a lot of potential this year in the Premier League.

So, it leaves me scratching my head as to why he wouldn’t want to play for the Blues. He clearly likes English football as he apparently enjoyed his time with West Ham. Heck, he even helped them avoid relegation.

He’s not going to see the pitch for Inter this year, that much is abundantly clear. So, knowing that, he still passed up a move away from the San Siro?

I really question the attitude and desire of Mario. He came to Inter in 2016 with a ton of fanfare and expectation and failed to live up to either of them.

He clearly has no place with the Nerazzurri and he doesn’t want one.

One potential suitor is Tottenham Hotspur, who appear on the verge of making a pitch to Inter for a season-long loan with an option to purchase attached. But, because the transfer window closes in a matter of hours in England, the deal would have to be good … quick.

Another option is to see if Inter can find success offloading Mario to a club outside of England. Real Betis is another potential landing spot for him.

I say, move him somewhere … anywhere. I know you want to recoup some of the initial investment made, but let’s cut the dead weight as soon as humanly possible.

If Tottenham makes a palatable offer, take it and run.

It has been no secret that Inter is looking for another midfielder to bolster its lineup ahead of Serie A and Champions League football this season. A potential deal with Arturo Vidal fell through as the former Bayern Munich player signed with Barcelona late last week. Discussion suggests Vidal turned away from Inter once rumors of Modric started to surface.

Now, this latest news may mean little as Modric is back from vacation after helping to lead Croatia to the World Cup finals.

He may just be training prior to his meeting with Perez because of professionalism.

Of course, it could also be a shot back to Inter that Modric has no intentions of leaving Real Madrid. Perez has reportedly been working on a restructuring of Modric’s contract to make him one of the higher-paid players on the team.

Additionally, Chelsea is looking to close a deal for Mateo Kovacic — Modric’s teammate in the midfield. If that deal is struck, it would likely mean Real Madrid will need to keep Modric rather than letting him move away.

Additionally, on the midfield front, Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as suitors for a last-minute deal for Inter wantaway Joao Mario. Mario has repeatedly expressed his intention to not return to Italy after a loan stint at West Ham United last season.

Tottenham had eyed Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, but reports suggest the price tag for Grealish have priced Tottenham out of interest.

Real Madrid could put Inter Milan in a spot of bother.

According to Calciomercato, Real Madrid are reportedly looking to report Inter Milan to UEFA about the excessive pressure put on Luka Modrić to force a move away from the club as well as the financial structure of the deal being proposed through the Suning Group, who are the majority shareholders and owners of Inter Milan.

The rumor mill has been in full swing and Football Italia reports, from Corriere dello Sport, that Modrić would welcome a move to Italy and has favored a move the Nerazzurri. The Croatian superstar is set to hold crunch talks with Florentino Perez tomorrow morning with his agents to discuss his future at the club.

Modrić has not exactly been vocal about his desire to stay at the Spanish capital which has upset President Perez according to Sport. Real Madrid are extremely angry with both the player and his agents, Vlado Lemic and Predrag Mijatovic. They are under the impression that silence over the rumours is intentional as they look for one last big contract. I wonder where he learnt that from.

With rumblings of a deal being structured with the aid of the Suning Group in the pipeline, Inter Milan are determined to land their number one midfield target and offer Modrić an opportunity to cement his legacy in Serie A.

Having said that, irritating Real Madrid and Florentino Perez is not a smart move and spoiling a long standing relationship with the Los Blancos could prove to be costly in the long run especially if UEFA were to get involved and investigate the structure of the potential deal and any future transfers between the two clubs.

With Keita Baldé and Rafinha rumured to be the Nerazzurri’s fall back targets, Inter would be wise to wait for the Golden Ball winner to have his conversation with the Florentino Perez before making any more advances to gauge whether the move to Milan is viable or not. After a relatively successful summer transfer window, Inter could do without any unnecessary instability off the pitch which could derail their momentum going into the new season.

Inter could swoop in for Monaco standout.

New news breaking last night in Italy is that Inter Milan have a new trick up their sleeve: Moving in for AS Monaco’s Keita Balde.

An added twist to the move is that the Nerazzurri are willing to swap Antonio Candreva to make the move happen.

Calciomercato reports that Inter would move in for Keita if their potential deal with Real Madrid for midfielder Luka Modric doesn’t come to fruition. Inter is awaiting news as to whether Modric is open to a move to the San Siro and, if he is, will Real Madrid be willing to part with him on a loan/purchase deal.

As for Keita, Inter has been reportedly working behind the scenes with his people to secure a deal if they can make a move with Monaco happen. However, reports also suggest that the deal for Modric is not necessarily tied with Keita, meaning the Nerazzurri could land both, if the stars align.

Last season, Keita scored eight goals with five assists in 19 matches with Monaco in limited action.

Another option to Modric has also sprung up as Manchester United has reportedly offered the services of Juan Mata, if Inter fails to land Modric. The caveat with Mata is the deal would have to be done by Friday as the Premier League transfer window closes at week’s end.

Additionally, reports are that a deal for Mata would not include moving Ivan Perisic to Manchester United, despite Jose Mourinho’s avid interest in the Croatian winger.

But, Calciomercato has also reported that Modric has already agreed to terms with Inter leaving Real Madrid president Florentino Perez the lone obstacle. Perez has stated the only way for Modric to leave is if a team pays his exit clause which is a ghastly €700-€750 million.

Conventional wisdom here is that Modric’s talks with Perez — which are expected to be Wednesday — with either be to convince Perez to let Modric go without the clause or to renegotiate a larger contract for the Croatian midfielder.

Now, we have to be careful here not to suggest that Balde would be a replacement for Modric. Balde is a forward while Modric is a midfielder. Balde would add an attacking option for Luciano Spalletti to work in conjunction with Mauro Icardi, Lautaro Martinez and Ivan Perisic.

Modric, on the other hand, could be a strong attacking midfielder or trequartista — which could be a bit of a stretch, but possible.

I actually like the Keita proposition, even if it means sending Candreva to Monaco — which he likely isn’t very fond of. We get a Sadio Mané-type player who is quick and already has solid experience. It isn’t that Candreva is bad, it’s that he can be inconsistent. Not that Keita won’t be, but it is likely he won’t be.

As for Modric, it would be a good name to have, but I just fear a Borja Valero situation where he is active part of the time and a hinderance the rest of the time. Valero has his upside — he is good on the defensive end, but not so much offensively. Modric would likely be just the opposite. The question is whether Modric is worth the potential price?

With Mata, I really don’t even know what to think. Mourinho is way too anxious to get rid of Mata, mainly because he has too many midfielders. Again, it isn’t that Mata is bad, he is just inconsistent.

I guess, when it comes down to it, I would rather see Rafinha in an Inter shirt over Mata and perhaps even over Modric. I love the passion Rafinha has for the game and for Inter. It isn’t just about a payday — at least it certainly doesn’t seem that way — for Rafinha. But, if we could pony up the money for Modric or Keita, why would we not do it for Rafinha?

Let’s be honest, Inter has had a stellar summer transfer season and we have picked up and created what could arguably be a strong contender for a Scudetto. Juventus has splashed the cash for Joao Cancelo and Cristiano Ronaldo but Inter has built its team smart. Not dropping a ton of money but getting players that fit the system.

An interesting ploy by Inter owners.

A report suggests Suning Group — primary owners of Inter Milan — could step in and help with Inter’s chase for Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.

Football Italia reports, from Corriere dello Sport, that Modric would come to Italy for four years and then move to Jiangsu Suning — Suning’s team in China — following that stint.

Under the plan, Suning would top off Modric’s wages and keep Inter from running afoul of Financial Fair Play.

Juventus did a similar deal with bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin from Real Madrid. It is reported that much of Ronaldo’s €30 million per season wages are being funded by sponsorships from FCA, a company owned by the Agnelli family.

If the reports are true, it could signal the seriousness of Inter Milan to bring Modric in from Spain. The latest suggests that Modric is planning to meet with Real Madrid and is considering a move from Real to Inter.

“The player is seriously considering leaving Real Madrid. He wants to sign his last big contract and is facing pressure from his agents. Real Madrid don’t have any kind of verbal agreement in which they’d have to let Modric go. They are not taking Inter’s offer seriously as it’d break Financial Fair Play,” La Sexta Jugones’ reporter José Luis Sánchez tweeted Sunday night.

Modric could be playing this part to seek a big contract from Real Madrid, but if the Spanish giants are not willing to negotiate, they could be pressured into letting Modric go, despite his sizable release clause.
