And the love is back, baby!
Ok, I admit, this game had me more than a little worried. Those of you who where convinced of a win today, I applaud your faith - I suffer from doubt sometimes. The mood was set before the match even began as all five (count 'em f-i-v-e) of trophies Inter won last year were brought out and displayed before the match.
Yummy.
How can you not be inspired by all that bling? Italian, European, and World Champs!
.
.
As I said, the full gaze of the Italian sports press was pointed firmly at Inter and Leonardo for this game.
No room for error, this was a must win. Leo handled the pressure with aplomb. What a welcome change.
.
.
I haven't watched the game yet so I cannot comment on how the team played, but I will take a 3-1 win any day of the week. Clearly, Inter (and by default, Leo) did something right, and all those goals brought out the love.
Yummy.
The squad loves Thiago Motta.
.
.
And with that second goal, everyone got to show him just how much... again.
.
But it wasn't all about the Thiago. Nope, Cuchu got in on the action as well.
Come on, admit it, you want to give Cuchu a little squeeze as well.
.
.
Even Leonardo got in on the action. I dont think I can remember one Rafa hug at all from the past 6 months. Today, Leo gets two. I think the squad has spoken.
.
.
I think a hug from Zanetti is the official squad stamp of approval.
.
.
The Thiago Motta bear hug is just icing on the cake.
.
.
Ok Leonardo, you did it. You won your first game and made all us Inter fans very very happy. Now lets keep the ball rolling and pick up the chase!
FORZA INTER
Clearly, Leo is a little proud of himself. Celebrate today, but dont let it go to your head - we have a whole lot of points to make up.
