Inter-UNICEF partnership to assist those affected by Typhoon Haiyan

We at SB Nation Inter Offside express our deepest condolences for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected in the Philippines in wake of purportedly one of the most powerful storms of this year.  Here are some important details we wanted to share with our readers in wake of such a catastrophic natural disaster.

The Inter site voiced their support for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan by announcing their partnership with UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) to aid those affected by the tragedy.

Inter tweeted this out earlier on Wednesday, November 13, 2013:

The following excerpts are from the Inter website regarding the Inter-UNICEF collaboration to assist those devastated by Typhoon Haiyan:

"Today we have a special challenge for you, a challenge launched by UNICEF involving Inter and Nerazzurri fans. We're asking you to help the many children - more than 4 million - who have been affected by the massive typhoon that ravaged the Philippines in the past week.

UNICEF is working to bring as much support as possible to young Filipinos, but in order to do so they need help from everyone.

Let's all team up, and together we can win this race against time by donating to UNICEF.

It is possible to do so:

• Through postal current account number 745.000, payable to UNICEF Italy, stating the description as 'Philippines Emergency'
• By credit card online at www.unicef.it by calling the toll free number UNICEF800 745 000

In addition to the methods listed on the Inter site which was geared more for donations in Italy, listed below are other reputable organizations involved with the Haiyan relief effort.

UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) is a non-profit organization that "...helps the needs of children" (per the UNICEF website).

UNICEF tweeted this out on November 12, 2013 regarding their estimation of how many million people were affected by Haiyan:

World Food Programme (WFP) as stated on their website "...is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger."

The WFP tweeted this out on November 11, 2013 illustrating the magnitude of those devastated by Typhoon Haiyan:

WFP also tweeted out that "$1 = 3 days of emergency food relief for 3 people in the Philippines."

According to the World Food Programme website, "...2.5 million people in the Philippines are in need of emergency food assistance."  The WFP are working to combat the hunger stricken area ravaged by Typhoon Haiyan through the provision of high energy biscuits but are in dire need of the public's help.
