Diego Milito reminisced on his time at Inter and thanked everyone involved with the club for his successful five-year spell.
The Argentine striker scored 64 Serie A goals and another 10 in the Champions League on his way to becoming one of the most beloved members of the squad.
Milito put on the Nerazzurri jersey for the last time in the 2-1 loss to Chievo and today he expressed his gratitude to the supporters.
"I want to say thank you to all the fans and everyone at Inter," he said to Inter Channel. "My five years here have been an amazing experience."
Javier Zanetti, Walter Samuel and Esteban Cambiasso also played their last match for the Nerazzurri and Milito admitted he will miss his compatriots very much.
"I'm great friends with Zanetti, Cambiasso and Samuel, it's hard to go our separate ways but it's time to move on with our lives."
Milito won a Scudetto, two Coppa Italias, a Champions League and Club World Cup title during his time with the Beneamata and will forever be immortalized for scoring the crucial goals that clinched the triplete in 2010.
"I'm proud to have worn the Nerazzurri shirt. Inter is a magnificent club and I wish them the best of success for the future."
Inter will now scour the transfer market for a forward and will need some luck to find another striker who was as classy, clinical and composed as Milito in his prime.
