According to Football Italia and SportsMediaSet,  Premier League side Crystal Palace have their eye on the recently re-acquired Inter defender Davide Santon, who, if Inter fans would recall proved to be one of the few bright spots late in Inter's 2014/15 campaign after re-joining Inter from English side Newcastle United in January.

What the article neglects to mention, however, is that Santon's loan carried with it a clause which stated that if he made a certain number of appearances then he would remain at Inter and that the Nerazzurri would have the option to buy him, which he did. That fact alone would seem to indicate but the Nerazzurri management are keen on signing the 24-year-old Italian international to a permanent contract at the end of the month.

Why former Newcastle boss Alan Pardew would want to bring Santon back to join his new side is beyond me. While I'm sure they had a decent relationship, I don't know why Santon would want to go back to playing for a manager who wouldn't even give him regular playing time with the Magpies (who did even worse in their domestic league than Inter last season, and who have far less upside to be honest).

Probably best to take this rumor with half a grain of salt, but just so we're clear: "Back off Davide Santon, Premier League!" He's ours, and we want to keep him.
