Lazio vs. Inter Milan: Match Preview, Team News and Ways to Watch

The season is three games away from its end and Inter has 4th place almost locked up, especially if they get a win against Lazio this weekend.

This weekend the Nerazzurri have the opportunity to take revenge on the team that started the long streak of bad results that cost them the possibility of fighting for the Scudetto. After the 1-2 loss against the Biancocelesti last December, Inter collected just 9 points in the following 9 matches with just 2 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses. It will be interesting to see how Inter will approach this match. On one hand, it is almost meaningless now that the Champions League qualification is too far to be a realistic target and the Europa League is guaranteed, on the other hand though the Nerazzurri can still hope to overcome Roma in the final match of the season and they also need to prevent Fiorentina, which is 5 points behind, from stealing the fourth place to avoid the EL preliminary rounds this summer.

Lazio vs Inter Milan Sunday, May 1st 14:45 ET / 20:45 CET Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Italy

No Biglia and Parolo for Lazio and no Ljajic (sore muscle) for Inter this weekend. Biabiany, who left the match against Udinese for a knee problem, should be fine and ready to play even if he will probably start the match on the bench. We will probably see the usual three man midfield, with Brozovic and Kondogbia at the sides of Gary Medel, while Nagatomo and D'Ambrosio will complete the starting back-four alongside the M&M's - Miranda and Murillo.

The season is coming to a close and even if the stakes aren't high anymore and it's almost impossible for the team to qualify for the Champions League, I would like to see the players fighting like it's one of the most important matches of the season, because this is the type of mentality that kept Inter in first place in the first half of this season and would allow the team to improve their chances to compete in the following seasons.

Projected Line-Ups

Lazio (4-3-3): Marchetti; Basta, Bisevac, Gentiletti, Konko; Onazi, Cataldi, Lulic; Candreva, Klose, Keita;

Inter (4-3-3): Handanovic; D'Ambrosio, Miranda, Murillo, Nagatomo; Brozovic, Medel, Kondogbia; Jovetic, Icardi, Perisic;
