Inter Milan vs. Borussia Mönchengladbach Friendly Cancelled

Today’s friendly has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch. The expected friendly matchup between Inter Milan and Borussia Mönchengladbach was just canceled since the pitch is unplayable. The referee and captains both assessed the pitch and decided that it wasn’t worth attempting to play the game in Ancona.

To be honest this probably comes as a bit of a relief to new Inter coach Frank De Boer. He just really took over the side yesterday and some extra time to work with his players would be helpful. There really wouldn’t have been much of anything to learn from this match anyways since he hasn’t really had time to begin teaching his new players his philosophy, though he could have used this to assess which players he might want to keep this upcoming season and who he thinks should leave. This means that both FDB and (most likely) Antonio Candreva’s debuts will come in the Inter’s final ICC matchup against Celtic on the 13th in Ireland.
