Inter looking to sell Stevan Jovetic again...

Now this is just sad and a little frustrating

I remember watching yesterday’s game and wondering why Rodrigo Palacio was sent on as Frank De Boer’s final sub rather than Stevan Jovetić. It’s obvious that the Montenegrin would have been more likely to score a goal (not that Jovetic has exactly been prolific during his time at Inter, just...well let’s just say some Inter fans have taken to calling the Argentinian Grandpalacio and leave it at that). Well reports today have given a reason why Jovetic stayed planted on the bench, and it’s for a pretty typical Inter reason.

So it turns out Inter’s loan+obligation to buy deal with Manchester City is about to kick in, and Jovetic’s next appearance for the club will automatically activate it. It looks like after keeping him around all summer, Inter has suddenly decided they don’t want to pay the €14.5m required for his services, and are now going to try to ship him off. There are a couple of clubs reportedly interested in the 26 year old, but so far none of them are willing to pay enough to pay the €14.5m Inter is asking for. Oh and also if Jovetic sits on the bench and just doesn’t play by December 31st Inter would probably still have to pay the €14.5m depending on where in the Serie A standings the Nerazzurri are at the end of the year.

I really hope this is just FDB deciding he doesn’t want Jovetic. I really hope this isn’t the club sitting on its butt for the last few months and then suddenly deciding against spending that money. If it is the latter than it is another pretty disconcerting oversight by the club and one that might force them to either sell him for less than the club wants, or to be stuck with him losing the money. These last few weeks have been pretty embarrassing for Inter fans, we don’t need any more incidents to deal with.
