After getting by Sampdoria by a score of 3-2 at San Siro, Inter Milan will hit the road to take on 19th place Verona.
Inter Milan - 4th in Serie A, 8-2-0, 26 points
vs.
Verona - 19th in Serie A, 1-3-6, 6 points
It’s a five-team shootout for the top spot on the Serie A table at the moment. Inter find themselves among the likes of Napoli, Juventus, Lazio and Roma. The Nerazzurri have played against the top sides in Italy, and this week they have a very favorable contest against Hellas Verona.
Mauro Icardi has been in amazing form lately. The Argentine’s hat trick against A.C. Milan put him on the radar as one of the most fierce strikers in Europe at the moment, and his brilliant play has continued ever since then.

Icardi bagged two goals in his previous contest against Sampdoria, earning Man of the Match honors in the process. The 24-year-old has scored more than 1 goal in four of his past ten matches, three of which came against opposition in the top ten.
Icardi should have a field day against Verona considering their suspect defense, who have conceded 19 goals so far this season.
Who doesn’t love having Milan Skriniar on the squad? The center back has been solid for Luciano Spalletti all season long.
The 22-year-old averages 2 tackles and 1 interception per game. The Slovakian also averages around 5 clearances per fixture. What I love about Skriniar is his ability to dribble forward and make plays offensively.
Skriniar contains a 90 percent pass success rate in the campaign thus far. He’s also buried 2 goals this season, including one in the last match against Sampdoria.
On the flip side of the coin, things aren’t looking so good for Verona. Their position on the Serie A table might indicate the struggle. They’ve lost 10 out of their last 11 Serie A contests heading into the next fixture.
Verona has really had difficulty putting the ball in the opposition’s net this season. They have only scored 6 goals this season, 3 of which come from Giampaolo Pazzini. Getting the ball on Pazzini’s feet seems to be a struggle for the squad. Add in the fact that they lose the ball in the offensive half 11 times per game, and things aren’t going to bode well in one of Europe’s toughest competitions.
Injuries
Marcelo Brozovic appears to have recovered after sustaining an injury during the international break to the back part of his calf muscle, otherwise known as the soleus.
Four players including Alex Ferrari and Mattia Valoti are going to be out in this contest for Hellas Verona.
Match Prediction
This should be one of the easiest three points that Inter earn this season. It all adds up to a victory for the Nerazzurri in the end. Players like Icardi, Skriniar, Ivan Perisic and Samir Handanovic have been playing really well as of late.
Inter have scored at least 2 goals in their last 13 matches against Verona, and they haven’t been defeated by them in their last 13 as well. The stats don’t lie, and the form of the players lately indicates a comfortable victory for Inter Milan.
Inter 3-0 Hellas Verona
