Serie C side Pordenone will travel to the Stadio Guiseppe Meazza to take on Inter Milan in the 2017-18 TIM Cup on Dec. 12.

Pordenone defeated Cagliari, 2-1 just three days after the Nerazzurri dispatched of the Isolani 3-1 over the weekend.

Currently in Serie C, Pordenone is fourth behind league-leading Padova followed by AC Renate. Pordenone is tied with AlbinoLeffe on points but is in fourth due to a weaker goal differential.

Against Cagliari, Miguel Angel Sainz-Maza opened the scoring in the 7th minute before Daniele Dessena equalized for Cagliari in the 18th.

Alessandro Bassoli secured the move into the round of 16 with a shot in the 62nd minute to give the visitors the upset win.

In the first three rounds, Pordenone defeated Matelica (2-0), Venezia (2-1) and Lecce (3-2) before their fourth round win at Cagliari. The recent win marked the second in a row in all competitions. Prior to the last two games, Pordenone went six straight games without a win – including three straight losses.

Pordenone is led by center-forward Federico Gerardi and Patrick Ciurria who have five goals each this season. Maza and Simone Magnaghi each have three goals. Midfielder Salvatore Burrai has four assists on the season.
