Inter vs. Torino - Player Ratings and MoTM

Mediocre performances galore for Nerazzurri.

The 1-1 draw at home against Torino would go down as a missed opportunity. Inter's players could have capped a recent run of impressive results with three points before start of the international break. It was a curious performance as there were very few players who we could call as having absolute stinkers but the vast majority had pedestrian performances at best.

Player Ratings:

Handanovic: 6

Made a good save against Baselli’s shot and could not be faulted on Falque goal

D’Ambrosio: 6.5

Made a couple of errors but also linked up well with Candreva on the right flank

Skriniar: 7

Did a good job on Belotti all game long and nearly scored, but for a brilliant save from Sirigu. Showing improvement in composure with every passing game

Miranda: 5

Allowing Falque to waltz past for the goal especially with one on one duels being Miranda’s forte, was definitely disappointing. On a positive note, he managed to avoid a booking in this game which would have kept him out against Atalanta in our next match

Nagatomo: 6

Did not really have a stinker but neither contributed much on his flank. Perhaps a sign of how much the Japanese has improved that a noon disastrous have is no longer considered a ten for him.

Gagliardini: 5

Did not really make too much of an impression and was rightly substituted off by Spalletti. Put the defense in a tight spot while trying to be too cute playing out from the back

Vecino: 7

Was extremely unlucky to not score what would have been Inter's goal of the season thus far. Outside of that, he was largely responsible for driving the team forward and continues to contribute in his understated way

Valero: 5.5

After scoring in the previous game, today was a step down in terms of overall output. Got caught in possession at times and gave the ball away leading to some dangerous Torino counters

Perisic: 6

One of the quietest games for the Croatian in recent memory. Crossed the ball in that led to Icardi's assist for the goal

Candreva: 8

This was an outstanding display by Candreva. Almost every Inter attack came down his flank. He linked up well with D'Ambrosio and cut in at times to help the midfield. Today's overall performance could have been much worse if not for his input

Icardi: 7

Missed a number of chances and showed a poorer touch than his usual high standards. He did however make the right decision in the lead up to the goal to rectify dinner of the earlier mistakes

Substitutes:

Eder: 7

Contributed to the attacking effort with his usual exuberance. While the goal came from a simple chance, he put it in the back of the net which is, stating the obvious, all important

Brozovic: N/R

Was on for too little time to be given a fair rating

Man of the Match:

Candreva: While it's easier to give this to Eder for his goal, the body of work that Candreva had to show for this game definitely made him my pick. Was a lonely bright spot in the stack on an otherwise sub par day

Let's all hope for an improved performance from Inter (Inter Milan) against Atalanta up next

Forza Inter!
