On this day: Inter wins third Scudetto

Nerazzurri defeat Juventus 2-0 in second-to-last game of the season.

A goal each in the first and second half saw Inter to a 2-0 win over Juventus on June 29, 1930 at the Arena Civica in Milan. The win clinched the Nerazzurri third Scudetto in the second-to-last game of the season.

Inter Milan won the Scudetto in 1910 and 1920.

Guiseppe Viani netted the first goal for Inter in the 32nd minute, giving them a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Leopoldo Conti sealed the win and the title with his strike in the 67th minute.

Guiseppe Meazza closed out the year for Inter as Serie A’s most prolific striker of the season, scoring 31 goals. Inter became the first team in at 18-team Serie A to score 85 goals in a season.

Inter was led that season by Hungarian Arpad Weisz who was killed by the Nazis during World War II.
