After five consecutive draws, Inter is coming off a win against Bologna and look to develop a steak as they continue to fight with Roma and Lazio for the Champions League spots for next season. Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic appear as though will miss the match which means the squad will have to go without their captain and their two significant offensive threats.

Nonetheless, against Bologna, Inter were able to generate chances due to a new face in Yann Karamoh. The Frenchmen became the spark Inter needed to end their winless streak as he made an excellent first impression in front of the home crowd. Generating four shots including his first goal with the club.

With Perisic and Icardi out, Luciano Spalletti could lean on the teenager to help generate some offense against Genoa. Another new face that Spalletti will look at for offense is Rafinha. Coming on as a substitute, Rafinha made his presence known as he helped create two scoring chances. Whether he’s fit to start or come on as a substitute, Rafinha could have an impact on the match.

Genoa sits in 12th in the standings, so a middle of the pack squad; however, they’re coming off back-to-back wins against Lazio and Chievo, so Inter will have their hands full on the road. Genoa is sound defensively and has not conceded more than one goal in their past six fixtures.

Genoa will not give them much to work with, so if Inter looks to get the win on the road, they will have to take advantage of any scoring chances they get, but a 1-1 draw on the road is the best outcome they can hope for, especially with Icardi and Perisic sidelined.

A draw isn’t what supporters want to hear but chalk it up as a win with the injuries the squad currently has. Get the point, come back home and hope Icardi and Perisic are healthy for the next fixture.
