Massive match for Inter at home vs. Lazio in Coppa Italia
Two poor results by the Nerazzurri and they have to right the ship. Luciano Spalletti held a press conference on the eve of the game.
“Tomorrow’s match is an important and difficult one: winning it would mean progressing to the semi-finals of the competition, so we know what it’s all about. It is going to be a game where we’ll be faced with difficult situations, but we know what the solution is: being Inter. If we play like Inter we’ll have a good chance of getting into the next round. There is no need to evaluate whether what we put into the previous game was enough. We have to put everything we’ve got into matches. In recent games we haven’t been able to do this. We have to remember who we are every time we take to the pitch and put everything we’ve got into it.”
Based on those quotes, it seems Spalletti knows exactly how important this fixture is. Juventus just dropped a 3-0 result at Atalanta and this Cup is wide open. Inter must see blood in the water and strike. This is a huge opportunity for Spalletti & Co. to earn back the fans trust.
Inter Milan block Perisic move to Arsenal
The last few days have been quite hectic with transfer rumours. Many Inter players asked to depart, most importantly was Ivan Perisic.
There were links for him to go to Arsenal on loan and buying outright for $35 million. Inter were only interested if Arsenal were to buy him outright but the Gunners wanted a loan. Arsenal are looking to make a push for the Champions League and Perisic could have been crucial for that. They now have to look at other opens.
This is good news for Inter and the team will hope he can give 100% for the Nerazzurri. One would expect him to leave in the summer but there are many games to be played. He has been included in Spalletti’s 18 and has a good chance of starting vs Lazio with Keita Balde still injured.

Roberto Gagliardini on the move to Watford?
The young italian has been rumoured with a move to the Premier League. It would be a great move for him and it would cost Watford $20 million. Gagliardini has struggled to break in to the XI this season. He has had some good games when he does play.
Inter left him off their Champions League squad since they had to follow Financial Fair Play sanctions. This would be unfortunate for the Nerazzurri to lose as they lost out on the Aaron Ramsey sweepstakes while losing depth. Inter have had many injuries this season while Gagliardini still could not break through.
It is tough to see a future with Gagliardini a part of the plans unless the Nerazzurri do not acquire any midfielders this summer.
