First off, Happy Valentines’ Day to all Interisti.

To our Serpents of Madonnina community, we say:

Now, on with the news of the day …

Icardi, Icardi and more Icardi

Mauro speaks out … kind of

After all the drama of the last 48 hours – with Argentine striker Mauro Icardi pulling himself out of Inter Milan’s lineup against Rapid Wien and then being stripped of his captain’s armband, he finally spoke out:

Mark Twain … interesting.

Speculation rolls

We all knew immediately after it was announced he wasn’t going to Vienna and he wasn’t going to be captain, a media frenzy would ensure regarding Icardi’s future with Inter.

Calciomercato has reported that Icardi has a deal already worked out with Juventus.

”I think Inter know Icardi has already an agreement with Juventus,” said Italian journalist Valer De Maggio. “Inter are a big club and Marotta is a top director. Remove his captaincy is a big decision and I insist that, for me, Icardi has already reached an agreement with Juventus.”

“I think,” not “I know.” Perspective.

Replacements … already?

Calciomercato went a step further today to suggest there are already targets in line if, and when, Icardi does leave the club.

Their report names Paulo Dybala of Juventus, Duvan Zapata of Atalanta and, possibly, Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint-Germain as possible candidates to join Inter after Icardi’s departure.

Adding fuel to the fire

Of course, it wouldn’t be drama without … well … more drama.

Reports have surfaced that winger Ivan Perisic confronted Icardi about comments Icardi’s wife/agent Wanda Nara said about Perisic when the Croatian was possibly seeking a transfer.

”Perišić went to Icardi and told him: ‘Tell your wife that she doesn’t have to speak about me on TV,’” Il Giornale’s Franco Order said. “Between Icardi and the rest of Inter, the club choose the rest.”

This came after Nara suggested Perisic had “personal problems” which led to his turning in a transfer request a few weeks ago.

Wanda Nara with a big mouth??? NO!!
