Gloria Marinelli records hat trick as Inter Milan woman upend Genoa, 7-0

Make it 15 out of 15 for Nerazzurre.

The Inter Milan women will enter the women’s international break on a 15-match winning streak after their 7-0 dismantling of Genoa in Milan Saturday.

Gloria Marinelli notched a hat trick while Fabiana Costi picked up a brace. Beatrice Merlo and Irene Santi also picked up goals.

The triple increases Marinelli’s lead for Serie B capocanniere as she now has 18 goals on the season.

It was Santi who started the scoring for Inter in the 8th minute while Marinelli picked up her first goal in the 20th minute after Alice Regazzoli slotted her a pass.

In the 25th minute, Marinelli made it 3-0 after racing past the Genoa defense for her second of the match. Merlo made it 3-0 with a goal in the 27th minute.

But, Marinelli wasn’t finished. In the 33rd minute, she lobbed a shot past Genoa goalkeeper Pignagnoli after receiving a pass from Regina Baresi allowing her to break away from the defense.

It was all Costi in the second half as the midfielder scored her two goals just four minutes apart – in the 55th and 59th minutes.

Inter will return to action March 17 when they take on Cesena. They sit atop Serie B on 45 points.
