Inter Milan management have a new contract ready for Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi and his wife/agent Wanda Nara to review.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the new deal has annual wages set at €6.5 million and runs through the 2023 season.

The wage mark is still well below the €10 million Icardi and Nara have requested and is even below the previously reported €7 million the Nerazzurri were prepared to offer.

The offer comes after the saga between the club and Icardi has played out all over the media. Between Nara’s appearance on the Italian television show Tiki Taka to Icardi’s former agent Abian Morano blasting off on Nara, the issues have been documented extensively.

“Until nothing came of Wanda, nothing had changed. He was humble, with his old friends and wanted to improve himself in the world of football,” Morano told Sport. “Now he has changed the way he sees life, he has lost his humility and has a rhythm of life that I personally believe is not the right one.

“The young Mauro was advised, the complicity he had with me helped him to get among the professionals. It was not easy to convince a young man to leave a club like Barcelona, but he accepted and I would say it was not bad at all. If the current situation surprises me? Absolutely not. The factor that most affects Mauro has it at home, having his wife who is also his agent. This influences him as a player and all that is going on depends on it. This change in his life could jeopardize his sporting future.”

Regardless of what else comes to pass between Icardi, Nara and Inter, once the final deal is sent, it will be up to Icardi and Nara to determine the next best course of action.

That said, it appears Icardi will not dress out for Inter Milan’s Sunday match at Fiorentina.
