There is no question that Inter Milan have to find ways to bolster their midfield during the summer transfer window.

With many names coming to the forefront, a new name has surfaced as a possibility for the Nerazzurri.

Calciomercato have suggested Inter could move in for Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan to help add to the center of the pitch.

The German international shows a market value of a little more than €30 million, which could be a good price for the 28-year-old.

Gundogan recently made headlines when he suggested Manchester City was “too nervous” following City’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League quarterfinals. He also suggested the team “always make the wrong decisions” despite battling Liverpool for the Premier League title this season.

City manager Pep Guardiola told TalkSport that he did not agree with Gundogan’s assessment of the team.

“Absolutely not,” Guardiola said. “In the second half it was under control. Our game at Tottenham was much better than Schalke.

Gundogan spent all of his career in Germany, starting with Hebler 06 before moving to SSV Buer in 2005 and Vfl Bochum’s youth squad in 2009. He made his top-flight debut with FC Nuremburg in 2011 and was sent to Borussia Dortmund in 2011.

Manchester City picked up Gundogan in 2016 for around €20 million.

So far, this season, Gundogan has made 43 appearances for City, scoring five goals and seven assists in all competitions. He suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out of five matches earlier in the season.

Gundogan does have a lot of seasoning in the center-midfield position and could provide Inter a good boost at the position. At €30 million, the price is good for the Nerazzurri to not unload a ton of cash up front for him, but he could still be a risk.
