The Inter Milan women continue their roll through Serie B.
Already earning promotion to Serie A next season, the Nerazzurre picked up their 20th win of the season with a 7-0 pasting of Ravenna at the Suning Youth Development Center in Milan Saturday.
Alice Regazzoli completed a hat-trick – scoring her first in the 6th minute of play after a nice dish from Regina Baresi.
Four minutes later, Gloria Marinelli scored the first of her two goals in the match after placing a shot right in the corner of the goal.
Marinelli made it 3-0 just a minute later when Silvia Pisano identified Marinelli’s run to goal. It was the 25th goal of the season for Marinelli – a league lead.
Marta Pandini got into the goal-scoring in the 31st minute while Baresi and Regazzoli combined again to make the lead 5-0 before the break.
In the second half, Inter appeared to take their foot off the accelerator, but it didn’t seem to matter after Martina Brustia found the goal in the 72nd minute and Regazzoli found her hat-trick with a goal in the 81st minute.
It was the 20th win for Inter out of 21 matches. Inter are a full 12 points up on second-place Empoli and 18 points ahead of Ravenna heading into the last match day.
Inter Milan will travel to take on Fortitudo Mozzecane at 9 a.m. EDT Sunday, May 5 to complete the regular season.
