Ed. Note: Updated to reflect that Steven Bergwijn does not play for Ajax, but for PSV Eindhoven.
Inter Milan’s Piero Ausilio traveled to London Tuesday to eye a couple of players during Tottenham Hotspurs’ Champions League semifinal first leg against Ajax.
According to Calciomercato, Ausilio had a look at Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico. The Argentinian has been on the radar for Inter since January.
Ausilio also had his eye on Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen. Vertonghen was also a target for the Nerazzurri last season before he renewed with Spurs last fall.
Another player on the list was Donny van de Beek, however, his price tag of €50 million is likely out of the range for Inter. With his goal in the 15th minute Tuesday to give Ajax a 1-0 win, that price may actually go up more.
Inter has also been linked to winger Hakim Ziyech, however according to Calciomercato, there has been no introductory discussions with the Moroccan and he is not likely a strong potential for Ausilio.
