Getafe club president Angel Torres made it clear where he and his club stands in the discussions around playing amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. The president said he and his team will not travel to Milan for the Europa League tie with Inter Milan. They won’t go even if it means losing the tie.

“We have looked for an alternative to playing in Milan.”

“We don’t want to be in the focal point of the coronavirus outbreak, we don’t need that. We have also asked the (Spanish) federation to demand the suspension.”

“If we have to lose the tie, then we lose it.”

“We don’t want to run any sort of risk. We are really excited about this match but if we have to lose it, then so be it.”

Milan has been the center of Europe’s worst outbreak of Coronavirus. One could hardly blame Getafe for not wanting to fly to the match, You’d hope there would be an alternative option for Getafe to get to play the tie without gong to the European center of the virus.
