Report: Hakimi Close to PSG

The Moroccan’s exit from the San Siro is only a matter of time

Ever since it became apparent that Inter needed to raise serious cash this summer, much of the conversation has centered around who would be the sacrifice. And as June winds down, we have an almost concrete answer: Achraf Hakimi. According to Fabrizio Romano (and quite a bit of the usual Italian media gang), the 22-year-old is France-bound.

Losing Hakimi only a year after buying him would be a huge but apparently financially necessary blow to Inter. Finding a successful right wing back has taken the Nerazzurri almost a decade and yet it’s already back on the hunt. Some names touted as successor have been Davide Zappacosta (Chelsea), Manuel Lazzari (Lazio), and Emerson Royal (Barcelona). Each has his own qualities and shortcomings, but one thing’s for sure. Inter won’t be able to find anyone near Hakimi’s quality to replace him. As long as Hakimi is the only key player sold this summer, however, Inter would still have one of the top rosters in Italy for Simone Inzaghi. Losing a player as talented as Hakimi sure will hurt, but as the signing of Hakan Calhanoglu shows, Inter isn’t be content to skulk back into the shadows despite tight pockets.

Who do you want to see replace Hakimi? Would you rather sell someone else?
