Alright. That was pretty horrible. Yikes, now we know how Milan has been feeling for the last few Derbies - not good. Still, it is not the end of the world. True, mistakes were made, but we can and will go on to win the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia.
So, in the words of Il Capitano:
"We won't lose heart now. We're looking ahead and we will make our best preparations for the Tim Cup semi-final against Lazio and the game against Siena. We have the chance to play the decisive match of the season in front of our fans."
Shall we move on?
Wednesday is the match with Lazio. For them it is a must-win: their ticket to Europe next year. We are thinking one more shiny thing would be nice, but not entirely necessary. I think we will use this game to give our younger players some experience. It is true, we now have something to prove, but we also can't afford anyone else to be injured for the Siena match. Look for some of our Primavera players to feature with the addition of probably Toldo, Jimenez, and Suazo.
The first leg of this match was a real snoozer so we can only go up from there (knock on wood). I will probably do a real preview on Monday night when we know a little more about how training went and possible formations.
Looking even further ahead:
Next Sunday we are home to Siena. They are fresh off their unlikely win against Juve and they certainly wont want to be the team that give us our scudetto twice in a row (last year's win is pictured here). I think this will be our true test. We may even have Ibra back for a few minutes.
Let's not get too ahead of ourselves, though. A week is almost forever in calcio.
I am a little disappointed with Sampdoria today. Now was Cassano's chance to really show what Roma was missing. And Fiorentina - What is up with you!?! Still Juve lost so today was not all bad.
Oh, and where the hell was our PK when Bonera dragged Suazo down in the box!!
(deep cleansing breaths - look ahead - peace and light)
