Inter have been on Perisic's trails for most of this summer market, but, after Shaqiri rejected Schalke's offer to join them, the Croatian star's arrival in Milan has been delayed or even cancelled if the Nerazzurri don't find a new club for the Swiss soon. Anyway, Inter are not worried by that situation since there is a lot of time left until the end of the calciomercato and they are already searching for a new possible winger to add to the squad.
Josè Maria Callejon, currently playing for Napoli, surely reflects the exact type of player Mancini is looking for, he is only 2 years older than the aforementioned Perisic and his value floats around €15-16 Million, just like the Croatian. Furthermore, Sarri's interest in Juan Jesus could ease things for the Nerazzurri who are willing to make a swap deal with Napoli, also adding cash to the deal if needed, according to Tuttosport.
This deal makes sense for both clubs:
- Inter has too much defenders as of right now and they also need to trim off the fat by the start of next season to collect some of the cash spent in this summer market and because the squad has to be limited to only 25 men.
- Napoli is stacked in the forwards department having players like Gabbiadini, Insigne, Mertens, Higuain and Callejon, who looks like the more expendable of the pack, could be easily sold for a fair amount of money or in a swap deal for a much more needed player.
There will surely be more words about this subject in the following days, especially because Shaqiri seems to be determined not to leave Milan anytime soon blocking Perisic's arrival, which looked almost sure just a few days ago.
