Getting to know Ivan Perisic

Ivan Perisic has been on Inter's radar for most of this summer market, and now that Shaqiri and Kovacic are gone his arrival seems nearer than ever, so it's the perfect time to know him better.

I'm not here to tell you if bringing Perisic to Inter would be a good or bad move, but I want to explain tho those who still don't know his game, even though the media talked about him a lot in this summer market and his arrival at Milan seemed imminent not too long ago, what are his strengths and weaknesses.

Personal Info

Name: Ivan Perisic

Date of Birth: 2 February 1989

Nationality: Croatian

Height and weight: 6 ft 2 in (1.87 m), 179 lb (81 kg)

Position: Left Winger

Clubs: Sochaux B, Roeselare, Club Brugge, Borussia Dortmund, Vfl Wolfsburg

Like every respectable winger Perisic has great speed and pace, which allows him to be a constant threat for opponents' defenses both with the ball at his feet and without it. Another great thing about him is the fact that he is very good with both feet, making him very difficult to defend since he can fire a shot with the right one or crossing the ball into the box with the left with the same ease.

Perisic is an exciting player, his pace paired with his dribbling ability makes him really enjoyable to watch, in particular if he is allowed to play with a lot of space in front of him where he is able to unleash his incredible speed.

He is a better finisher than a wide playmaker, and his stats show just that. According to he netted 31 goals in his last 4 seasons with Wolfsburg, Croatia and Borussia Dortmund, while his assists are almost a half of that, 16. There is a concerning number in his game though, and it's the one regarding his passes: he makes 22 of them per game, but only the 77% finds a teammate.

Getting him would mean acquiring a technically talented player, a nightmare for the opposing defense capable of scoring great goals with both feet. Even if he is already 26, he surely needs to improve parts of his game - for example, his passing ability -  but with little effort I think he could become one of the most complete all-around winger of the world.
