After months of waiting Serie A is back, which means we get to see our favorite team back in action. A series of less than spectacular preseason friendlies have not exactly galvanized supporters, but now that points will be on the line, nothing less than their best will be expected.

On the transfer market front, we all know of the series of additions (and departures) that have shaken up the squad. That has been discussed numerous times so far so I won't say much about all of it here except that it will be interesting to see how well the newcomers adapt to their new league.

Mancini and his men start the season by taking on the other Nerazzurri team, Atalanta. Though they are not a very good team, Inter tends to struggle going up against this side. We were able to take 6 points from them last season but that was the first time that had occurred since they returned to Serie A in the 11/12 season.

Missing from the Inter squad for the match are Vidic, Dodo, and Biabiany. Hernanes and Guarin were doubtful but they both made the 25 man squad. There aren't any absences for Atalanta manager Edy Reja to deal with.

It is always important to start a season on a good note. The 14/15 campaign began with a disappointing 0-0 draw against Torino so Mancini will be keen on avoiding a similar scenario. Atalanta is usually a bogey team so the team cannot afford to make mistakes in this match. There are so many questions surrounding Inter's upcoming season: Will the new defensive signings correct last season's horror show at the back? Will Jovetic stay healthy and supply goals to help out Icardi? Will somebody else step up and provide the side's creativity in the absence of Kovacic? Well now we will begin to get the answers to those questions, and if they end up in our favor, we might be in for a memorable season.
