While there are a number of faces behind the scenes at Inter who do not get much recognition, there are a few that are more easily identifiable. Marco Fassone has been one of them. He joined the club in May 2012 following spells at Juventus and Napoli. Though his introduction was viewed with some skepticism due to his past jobs, he performed his job admirable, gaining a majority of his plaudits during his time working alongside Piero Ausilio. His actions were key in brining in a number of new signings over the summer, including Kondogbia and Jovetic.

Even though Fassone has worked reasonably well so far, Thohir is looking to make changes in the managerial structure at the club which has resulted in Fassone's departure. A short statement was released on the club website to officially announce the change.

There has been no word yet on a replacement for Fassone's position. The current speculation is that Fassone's role will be divided between Vice President Javier Zanetti and CEO Michael Bolingbroke. There is also the possibility that either former Atalanta director  Pierpaolo Marino, Hellas Verona general director Giovanni Gardini, or former Bologna director Roberto Zanzi will take over from Fassone. The final possibility would be for former Inter defender Ivan Cordoba to return to the club seeing as he has been studying to become a director.

So from myself and hopefully all of the Inter fans here on this site, we thank Mr. Fassone for all his work at Inter and wish him the best of luck in the future.
