To start off this contest, the offensive juggernaut in Napoli found Lorenzo Insigne square the ball towards Marek Hamsik who took his shot well wide of the bar.
Inter got themselves a crack at goal when Candreva sprinted down the right line and crossed a ball towards Roberto Gagliardini, but the shot got deflected wide.
Samir Handanovic proved his worth for the club as he robbed both Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens. Callejon worked into the box and fired a shot while Mertens tried to smash the rebound home, but Handanovic stopped both before the ball got cleared away.
At the 34th minute, Hamsik ripped a ball into the box that Insigne got his head on. Handanovic yet again collected it calmly to keep the score at 0-0.

Pepe Reina flipped the ball to Borja Valero who took a shot on Reina, but the chance got tipped over.
To start off the second half, Matias Vecino got sent into the box. He got away from Reina and chipped the ball towards goal, but his close chance got headed away by Raul Albiol.
In the 75th minute, Insigne connected with a ball on the edge of the box, but the shot went just wide of the far post. It looked like Handanovic got beat. Lucky that it went wide.
Inter didn’t have much possession in the second half which led to Spalletti’s men putting as much shots as they can on target. Joao Mario got involved by taking a low shot towards goal that went wide of the Napoli net.
