Plenty of chances for both Napoli and Inter at Estadio San Paulo. Both keepers stood strong as this important Serie A contest finishes at 0-0.
Samir Handanovic proved his worth for the club as he robbed both Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens. Callejon worked into the box and fired a shot while Mertens tried to smash the rebound home, but Handanovic stopped both before the ball got cleared away.
At the 34th minute, Hamsik ripped a ball into the box that Insigne got his head on. Handanovic yet again collected it calmly to keep the score at 0-0.
In the 75th minute, Insigne connected with a ball on the edge of the box, but the shot went just wide of the far post. It looked like Handanovic got beat. Lucky that it went wide.
Inter didn’t have much possession in the second half which led to Spalletti’s men putting as much shots as they can on target. Joao Mario got involved by taking a low shot towards goal that went wide of the Napoli net.
Midfielder Piotr Zielinski took a shot from midfield that got blocked away beautifully by Handanovic. The 33-year-old had a superb fixture.
To finalize the chances, Mertens got behind the Inter backline and took a shot first time that Handanovic again got a piece of and sent wide.
