Come on guys. We can do this. We're so nearly there. Only 180 minutes of pain to go and then we can all wave goodbye to the 2016-2017 season, which will have to go down as one of the most humiliating seasons in Inter's entire history. Nobody has enjoyed a single minute of it, but thankfully the prolonged torture is about to come to an end. Every cloud has a silver lining and all that - although admittedly, you have to really want to see this one.
Absolutely nothing is at stake in this match. Nothing. Lazio are already guaranteed a spot in next season's Europa League group stage, while Inter are no longer capable of qualifying for the preliminary rounds after Milan beat Bologna on Sunday afternoon and mathematically secured 6th place in the Serie A table. There's no Mauro Icardi, there's no Gabigol, there's no Andrea Pinamonti and there are Yuto Nagatomo, Marcelo Brozovic and Eder amongst others, so we're probably going to lose 4-0 and extend our winless run to 9 games*, which will be just fab. Really I don't think there's anyway this match could be any less appetising.
Enjoy! Forza Inter!
*Technically there is something to play for in this match, because never in their entire history have Inter gone 9 Serie A matches without winning - if ever there were a team capable of making history in that regard, it's this one.
