Choosing Inter’s MVP wouldn’t have been much of a debate last season. Romelu Lukaku was by and far the frontman for the Nerazzurri’s title-winning charge with 24 goals and 11 assists to his name in Serie A alone. This season, however, the MVP race is much more of an open field. You could make the case for at least five players: Milan Skriniar, the anchor to the backline who consistently thwarted opposing attacks; Ivan Perisic, who stepped into stardom with one of his most productive seasons in recent memory, highlighted by a number of key goals in key moments; Hakan Calhanoglu, who arrived from Milan with the daunting task of filling Christian Eriksen’s shoes, and blew expectations out of the water - few players showed up in big games as consistently as him; Marcelo Brozovic, who doesn’t need any introduction - go and rewatch the games he missed this season if you need further convincing; and last but not least, Lautaro Martinez, who persevered through a confidence draining slump and the lack of a consistent strike partner to put up career-best numbers.
Now it’s time for you to decide. Let us know who gets your MVP accolades in the poll below.
