After advancing over one Portuguese team in the Champions League round of 16, Inter face another in the quarterfinals. Inter drew Benfica in the Champions League quarterfinals draw this morning.
The tie’s first leg will take place in Portugal at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon on either April 11th or 12th. The second leg will be at the San Siro on April 18th or 19th. Benfica’s road in the Champions League featured topping their group that featured PSG and Juventus, before dismantling Club Brugge 7-1 on aggregate in the round of 16.
Another exciting aspect of the draw is that all three Italian sides were drawn on the same side of the bracket, so we’re guaranteed an Italian side in the semi-final. There’s also the possibility of a Derby della Madonnina in the semi-final, although both Inter and Milan will be underdogs in their respective ties.
