First, I have to say I love the interaction this community has provided.
We put up a form and asked you all to select the roster you want to see Luciano Spalletti start when Inter Milan faces Fiorentina in the Serie A season opener Sunday.
You all deserve a pat on the back as we received more than 700 responses to our query.
Here is what you all had to say:
Starting formation
More than 72 percent of SoM members said the Nerazzurri should stay in the three midfielder, one forward formation. Something like a 4-1-4-1 or 4-3-3-1. Another 10 percent of you thought going to a two striker, two midfielder set would be good while 8 percent said the 3-4-3 was the best approach.

There was really not much of a contest here as starter Samir Handanovic got 99.1 percent of the vote. Nothing against Daniele Padelli or Tommaso Berni, but pending a horrific accident there is no way Hando isn’t starting Sunday.
Defense

This where things got a little interesting.
While new signee Dalbert received overwhelming support on the left side (which isn’t altogether too surprising considering the other options were Yuto Nagatomo and Cristian Ansaldi), and Danilo D’Ambrosio was the popular pick for the right side, it was the center that was pretty intriguing.
Jeison Murillo got a little love, but not much from Interisti. Instead, it was between Sampdoria transfer Milan Skriniar and Joao Miranda. In the end, Miranda picked up just a few votes more than Skriniar.
Midfield

Here was another mixed bag of results as you all gave solid love to former Fiorentina midfielder Borja Valero, Joao Mario and Roberto Gagliardini in the middle. Valero picked up the most votes behind Mario.
There was even some love for the newest member of the midfield, Matias Vecino. But, there was no love whatsoever for Geoffrey Kondogbia. The Frenchman currently sitting in the team’s doghouse, got a whopping 26 votes.
Wingers/Forwards

These were pretty obvious as Ivan Perisic, Antonio Candreva and Mauro Icardi were the clear top vote-getters. Éder, Gabriel Barbosa and Stevan Jovetic garnered less than 100 votes and Andrea Pinamonti picked up just 1 percent of the vote.
So, there you have it. Thanks everyone for taking part and we may do this again soon.
And, of course … Forza Inter!
