Goals two minutes apart late in the second half helped Inter Milan’s Primavera squad earn a 2-2 draw with Dynamo Kyiv in the first leg of their UEFA Youth League series at the Stadio Breda in Sesto San Giovanni, Wednesday.
Andrea Pinamonti picked up a goal in the 69th minute while Jens Odgaard equalized in the 71st minute.
Heorhii Tsitaishvili put Kyiv on the board first with a goal in the 10th minute of play. The goal came after Pinamonti was slotted through by fellow first-teamer Zinho Vanheusden, but Pinamonti couldn’t finish around Dynamo goalkeeper Vladyslav Kurchuk in the 3rd minute.
Odgaard took a shot on a few seconds after Pinamonti’s shot was pushed away only to have Kurchuk dive to grab the delivery.
After Tsitaishvili’s score — the first shot on for Dynamo — Odgaard and Nicoló Zaniolo each took chances but were brushed aside. Odgaard took another chance just before halftime, but Kurchuk came up with the save.
In the second half, Serhiy Buletsa blasted a shot that came off the cross-bar in the 53rd minute, but it wasn’t until Mykola Shaparenko found the back of the net in the 67th minute on a penalty to take a 2-0 lead.
The second leg of the matchup will be played in Kiev on Oct. 18.
