The international break has reared its ugly head once again. After Alessandro Bastoni and Edin Dzeko departed their national team camps with lingering knocks from the derby, Stefan de Vrij’s name has now been added to the injury list. The 29-year-old hobbled off the field 90 minutes into the Netherlands’ 2-2 draw with Montenegro, which saw the Oranje blow a two-goal lead with ten minutes to go and put qualifying for the 2022 World Cup on hold until next week’s clash with Norway.
Il momento dell’infortunio di DeVrij.

de Vrij’s injury came under no contact (always a bad sign) and is reported as a flexor problem that could keep him out for multiple weeks. It couldn’t come at a worse time for the Nerazzurri, who take on league leaders Napoli and the always tricky Shakhtar Donetsk immediately after the break. Andrea Ranocchia versus Victor Osimhen? I have a bad feeling about this...
Get well soon, Stefan!
