While rumors swirl around Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku, Inter at least has some certainty on the sidelines. The club announced Tuesday that Simone Inzaghi has signed a contract extension until 2024.

Despite disapointment on the final matchday, Inzaghi’s debut season went just about perfectly to preseason expectations. He beat Juventus in a pair of cup finals and earned Inter its first Coppa Italia in a decade, all while the Nerazzurri adapted to a post Conte and Lukaku world. Inzaghi also proved his mettle on the European stage by advancing out of the groupstage and being the only team to beat Liverpool at Anfield. Though he struggled with a Plan B and in-game substituions on occasion, Inzaghi showed his tactical capabilties and crafted Inter into a fluid attacking outfit that could give the best teams in the world a run for their money.
With greater resources at his disposal and more experience on the top level under his belt, the sky’s the limit for Inzaghi at Inter and locking down his future is a great step for the club.
